Sorry to hear and hate to add to your woes, but keep in mind that it's possible he never had the main caps to your head which means that if he ever mans up and sends some to you that they may not be for your head which can lead to some serious clearance issues.

But good luck nonetheless.

line hone.. and im pretty sure main caps are the caps that hold the crank to the block.. not for the head

Oh you're right. I was obviously thinking cam caps. I stand corrected. And yes an align hone would solve the issue regardless of which caps they are but I don't think that is what the OP thought he was getting into.
